For all of the reasons children require fluoride treatments, adults need them as well to keep teeth healthy and strong. Over time, different liquids and solids that we consume build up an acid that ultimately breaks down our teeth, starting with the enamel. Once the acid penetrates the enamel, it can start to break down crucial minerals needed in our teeth. Fluoride is the best way to ensure strong, healthy teeth and it’s a great way to rebuild the enamel or minerals that may have already been lost.
MI Varnish (A product I love to use!)
MI Varnish is a bioavailable varnish treatment that contains calcium, phosphate and fluoride. This product remains on the teeth longer than other fluoride varnishes and contains high levels of fluoride and calcium released in the oral cavity. The difference is in the RECALDENT™ (CPP-ACP), which makes MI Varnish a natural and unique choice for our patients. Casein phosphopeptides (CPP) naturally occurs in milk casein; Amorphous Calcium Phosphate (ACP), which is found in the RECALDENT™, is also the source of calcium and phosphate. In the oral cavity, CPP binds to oral surfaces such as teeth, dentin, oral mucosa and biofilm.
